Growing up in London as the eldest of three daughters, I developed a natural passion for education from an early age through helping my sisters with their homework. I attended St Christopher’s primary school and South Hampstead High School (GDST). In 2017, I graduated with A-Level grades in Classical Civilisation (A), Design and Technology (A), Psychology (B), Religious Studies (A), Extended Project Qualification (A*). During Sixth Form, I ran the student Amnesty club, where I organised school-wide awareness events and fundraising.

During a gap year of exciting travel, I volunteered in the Sir John Soane's Museum where I would assist children’s art workshops and find creative ways to bring history to life. I continued my studies at the University of St Andrews. I graduated with a high 2.1 in Master of Arts, Joint Honours in Classical Studies and Film studies. During my honour years, I was awarded a place on the Dean’s list for academic excellence.

Throughout my life, I have experienced the importance of an educator creating an encouraging and engaging environment. Tutoring especially allows for this education to be made personal, something which can be essential in building confidence and inspiring passion for a subject.

As a gentle and encouraging individual, creating a comfortable environment which builds confidence and motivates is at the heart of my approach. I believe many students limit themselves due to self-consciousness and the thought that they do not understand a subject. I focus on breaking these barriers and helping them discover the full extent of their capabilities.

To build the rapport necessary to support the student, I focus the first session on getting to know the student, their interests, and their current level in the subject. It is essential to me to tailor each lesson to the individual student, using this first session to discuss what works for their learning style. I find great success in linking academic content to the students' interests outside the classroom, which often ignites a passion for the subject that was previously missing. Whether it's connecting classical literature to films they enjoy or theming a maths problem after their favourite hobby, I aim to bring enthusiasm and genuine excitement to every lesson.

Creating engaging and interactive classes is central to my tutoring. I aim to make lessons memorable and fun through a multi-media approach, incorporating different materials, props and activities that engage multiple senses. Using interactive learning and a range of sensory input not only appeals to a variety of learning styles but is especially helpful for students who struggle to focus. Having completed °®ÒºÊÓƵ's online tutoring training, I'm equally skilled at delivering dynamic virtual lessons, using digital whiteboards and interactive resources to encourage full engagement, whether teaching in-person or online.

Alongside my tutoring, I am studying for an MA in Historical Fashion and Costume at UAL on an academic scholarship. I have a great love for the importance of storytelling and how art can be used to connect communities of the past and present. I believe that art and academia work in tandem to provide a deeper understanding of our world.

As a creative person, I fill my downtime with making art while curled up with my dogs and a good audiobook. In particular, I love painting, sewing and embroidery. When I’m not starting a new art project, I am exploring London’s various museums, theatres and cinemas, with my favourite being the V&A.
