I have been teaching science for 27 years in schools across the UK, Poland, and Spain. I have a wealth of experience and started my career by completing my PGCE at Liverpool University.

My first job was at Chalfont St Peter, where I stayed for 13 years and was promoted to various curriculum and behavioral leadership roles. These included Head of Year (Years 7-13), Head of Science, Head of A-Level Chemistry, Head of Extracurricular Activities and Trips, and eventually, Whole-School Head of Pastoral Care.

I was then headhunted for a senior leadership role at a failing school in Buckinghamshire, where I spent a year implementing and improving behavior management strategies for both students and staff.

I have taught all three sciences from KS2 to KS5 across all exam boards. Additionally, I have prepared students for the 11+ and 13+ entrance exams, including those for prestigious schools such as Westminster, Wellington, and Eton.

After a highly successful year, I transitioned into the private pre-prep sector, spending five years at Davenies in Buckinghamshire as Head of Science. During this time, I developed a triathlon program for Years 7 and 8.

Seeking international experience, I then spent five years in Warsaw, Poland, where I held the roles of Head of Science, Head of Year, and Whole-School STEM Coordinator. In 2024, I moved to Barcelona, Spain, where I have taken on additional whole-school responsibilities to enhance the provisions available to students.

I have been tutoring for over 15 years and take great satisfaction in watching my students progress and achieve their full potential in their studies.

Tutoring, to me, is more than just teaching—it’s about building a connection that fosters curiosity, confidence, and a love for learning. My approach is rooted in understanding each student’s unique learning style, challenges, and aspirations. By creating a supportive and engaging environment, I strive to make complex scientific concepts not only accessible but also exciting.

My passion for science has always been a driving force in my tutoring. I believe that science is not just a subject but a way of thinking—one that encourages exploration, problem-solving, and innovation.

More than just helping students improve their grades, my goal is to instill confidence in their abilities and a genuine interest in learning. I celebrate their successes, support them through challenges, and encourage them to ask questions and think critically. By fostering this mindset, I hope to empower students to become independent learners who are excited to explore new ideas long after our tutoring sessions end.

When I’m not teaching or tutoring, you’ll most likely find me outdoors. I have a passion for travel and love exploring new places, whether it’s a weekend getaway or an adventure abroad. I’m also a big fan of triathlons, always looking for the next challenge, whether it’s swimming, cycling, or running. Hiking is another favorite pastime—I enjoy discovering new trails and taking in the scenery. But one of the best parts of my day is walking my three dogs with my wife, enjoying the fresh air and good company.
