I am a qualified teacher with over 17 years experience in secondary school Mathematics. I am originally from North West England. After taking my A levels in Maths (A), Further Maths (A), French (A) and English Literature (A), I studied Mathematics at the University of Nottingham. After University, I spent a year learning Russian and teaching English in St Petersburg. I returned to England and trained as a Maths teacher in London in 2007 through Teach First. I have been teaching ever since. I am also a published Pearson textbook author and contributed a chapter of the current A level Maths Edexcel Pearson Year 2 textbook.

I have extensive experience of ensuring successful outcomes for pupils. I specialise in making complex mathematical concepts accessible and also engaging for students. To pave the way for the academic success, at the outset, I conduct diagnostic assessments to evaluate a student’s current understanding and identify specific areas that need improvement, then develop a personalised learning plan that target those weaknesses at a pace appropriate for the student. I provide detailed and clear explanations and regularly monitor progress to ensure sustained improvement. By creating an encouraging learning environment, I help students build self-confidence and develop their resilience.

I currently work as a Maths teacher part time. I teach year 7 through to year 13, including GCSE Maths, GCSE Further Maths and A level Maths and Further Maths.

In my spare time I love to cycle, swim and read a good book and spend time with my family.
