With over 30 years of experience teaching Chemistry and Biology across the UK, Asia, and the Middle East, I bring a wealth of international expertise to both classroom and online learning environments. I've taught students of all ages and backgrounds, from school-age learners to adults, and across diverse cultural and educational settings.

Currently teaching GCSE and A-Level Chemistry at a UK boarding school, I combine academic rigor with a student-centered, practical approach that makes science engaging and relevant. I’ve also worked extensively in online education using tools like Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams, and interactive whiteboards, tailoring my methods to support various learning styles.

My philosophy centers on inspiring confidence, curiosity, and a love for lifelong learning. Beyond academics, I support students' personal growth—whether mentoring, advising service groups like MEDSOC, or encouraging balance through activities such as scuba diving and music.

I’ve held leadership roles including curriculum coordinator, where I fostered collaborative environments focused on shared goals and continuous improvement. I’m well-versed in both the A-Level and IB curricula, and committed to helping students thrive—academically, personally, and globally.

My experience teaching in an international context has equipped me with a broad perspective and a diverse set of instructional methods. I favour a practical approach combined with the teaching and consolidation of key skills, knowledge and understanding. My greatest strengths include inspiring and motivating students and helping them to have a deeper understanding by applying concepts and skills to investigations and real-life applications to encourage them to learn how to reason and think and gain confidence. As an online tutor, I believe in creating a supportive, interactive, and student-centered learning environment. I am experienced with digital tools and am adept at creating engaging lesson plans, providing clear explanations, and offering constructive feedback. My approach is tailored to meet each student's unique learning style, ensuring they feel confident and empowered in their studies. My teaching philosophy centers around creating an inclusive and dynamic learning environment that inspires curiosity and critical thinking. I am adept at tailoring lessons to accommodate various learning styles and fostering a collaborative culture that encourages growth mindset.

I enjoy singing and dancing salsa, reading, and taking my three dogs for walks. I'm passionate about scuba diving and snorkeling, and I really miss the warm ocean waters. I also love going to music concerts, the theatre, and comedy shows—especially when I get to share those experiences with my three daughters.
