I grew up in Wimbledon, London and studied at Tiffin School where I took A-Levels in History (A*), English Literature (A), Religious Studies (A) and Music (A). After enjoying a Widening Participation Humanities Residential in Cambridge in Year 12, I went on to apply and obtain a place at Trinity College, Cambridge where I read History.

During my time at Cambridge, I enjoyed exploring as broad a range of History as I could, from witchcraft in the 17th Century to the History of Political Thought. In my final year I specialised mostly in Film History, and was fortunate to conduct research at the Oscars Academy Archives in Los Angeles.

After my undergraduate degree I completed a PGCE at the University of Cambridge before teaching at a high-achieving comprehensive state school in West London, working as part of the highest-rated Multi Academy Trust for pupil progress in the country. After completing a Masters in Education at the University of Cambridge I became the second in charge of the department, before being appointed as Head of History the year after.

As a former History teacher and Head of Department, I understand the significant pressures students face today. My personal approach to tutoring focuses on supporting the student through continuous low-stakes assessment, reducing academic anxiety, nurturing personal motivation, and comprehensive long-term planning. In a supportive, judgment-free environment, students can admit knowledge gaps without fear as we tie their learning into their personal interests and goals. My aim is to relieve academic pressures, boost self-confidence, and inspire a lifelong love of learning.

I am dedicated to laying solid foundations for their long-term growth and future achievements. Rather than teaching to the test, I take a more holistic approach to build up a student鈥檚 skills, so they have the confidence and understanding to apply what they have learned to multiple cases. I use assessment for learning techniques to identify each student's strengths and weaknesses which allows us to customise an engaging, step-by-step plan that builds vital skills like critical thinking and problem-solving.

In my capacity as a classroom teacher I have lots of experience with adapting my teaching for students working at all levels of attainment and supporting students with special educational needs and EHCPs.

I am taking a break from teaching to complete a MA in Education and Technology at the UCL Institute of Education in order to delve into my fascination with the intersection between AI and education, and the impact that it is having and will have on students.

When I am not studying or tutoring I enjoy singing, quizzes, and watching films.
